Estate planning and settlement of trusts and estates

Trusts & Estate Law

My law firm is devoted exclusively to estate planning during lifetime, particularly for those who want to avoid or minimize estate tax, and settlement of trusts and estates after death.  I have assisted many families (some now in the third generation with my firm) with their estate goals, including:

1.  Avoiding probate and the courthouse process after death

2.  Minimizing or avoiding estate tax

3.  Providing an inheritance for family members or others, in the most effective and efficient way.  For some families, the options include trusts for underage children or children who are of adult age but have issues which affect how they should or can inherit (immaturity, marital issues, creditor issues, inexperience with investments and financial management)

4.  Fulfilling charitable goals such as through the creation and funding of private charitable foundations, charitable remainder trusts, and charitable lead trusts.

The intake process for clients with whom I have not worked previously involves a straightforward questionnaire, which I ask all new clients to complete and then return to me.  After the completed questionnaire is returned to me, I am prepared for an initial conference at which all options are discussed for the estate planning process.
